Locomotive head
SilShield® Spall-Free® Laminated Film:
The safety standards for locomotive windshields are exceptionally high, requiring the ability to withstand bird strike tests exceeding even ballistic standards to ensure the safety of the driver and passengers. SilShield® has developed Spall-Free® splash-resistant film for this purpose, compatible with PVB and TPU films, providing the ultimate safety barrier for high-speed trains and locomotives, such as locomotive windshields.
Safety & Security Film:
Blast-resistant film for driver cabins in lower-speed intercity vehicles and locomotives serves as a robust safety barrier. Its excellent shrinkage properties and ultra-high transparency ensure ease of installation during the application process on large curved windshields. Blast-resistant film can be applied not only to front windshields but also widely to other areas, including side windows and door windows.
Easy-clean film (for external use):
During the operation of locomotives, the exterior of the glass is prone to dirt and stains. SilShield's self-cleaning film, coated with a highly durable super hydrophobic layer that, while allowing water droplets to roll off, also removes surface dust, achieving easy cleaning and self-cleaning effects. At the same time, the choice of polyester film and strong pressure-sensitive adhesive serves as a protective barrier against explosions.
Locomotive Body ( Exterior)
Locomotive Exterior Wraps:
An increasing number of locomotive exterior designs are moving away from painting solutions due to environmental concerns and the high weight of paint, which consumes a significant amount of energy. By using SilShield's high molecular weight CastShield exterior wraps for locomotives, this issue can be effectively addressed. These wraps can be customized based on paint color or standard color codes and undergo weather resistance treatment on the surface, offering a service life of more than 12 years.
Locomotive Graphic Wraps:
Subway and light rail carriages that navigate through cities are no longer restricted to traditional color designs; they are increasingly adopting vibrant thematic images. SilShield® graphic film and over laminates can be applied to the exterior of the vehicle, maximizing the true-to-life colors of the images and meeting the quality requirements for wraps on high-speed moving vehicles.
Vehicle anti-graffiti Film:
In the public transportation sector of some countries, stainless steel and vehicle bodies are often subject to damage, posing a constant challenge for the operating companies. SilShield's specialized vehicle anti-graffiti film provides a perfect solution to this problem. It can be easily removed without leaving adhesive residue after graffiti, and regular replacement reduces maintenance costs.
PC-Specific Anti-Graffiti Film:
Polycarbonate sheets, commonly known as PC sheets, are increasingly being used in the field of rail transportation due to their high strength, excellent impact resistance, and lightweight properties. However, PC sheets are susceptible to scratches on their surface and require the protection of a specialized PC-specific anti-graffiti film. SilShield® PC-specific anti-graffiti film can be perfectly applied to PC surfaces without bubbling or curling during temperature fluctuations, making it an ideal choice for professional protective film.
Locomotive Interior
interior finishes:
In various parts of the car's interior, such as the ceiling, inner walls, end walls, electrical cabinets, restroom, luggage rack, kickboards, and more, wood grain, abstract, texture, and metallic color schemes are used in large quantities. To achieve outstanding decorative effects, interior decorative films must possess excellent color and texture, outstanding adhesive performance, fire resistance, and environmental protection ratings.
Glass Anti-Graffiti Film:
SilShield®'s graffiti protection film offers excellent anti-graffiti functionality and can provide anti-graffiti films based on customer requirements, including G0, G1, and G2 standards (reference to France's NF F31-112 anti-graffiti testing standard). In order to reduce the frequency and cost of manual maintenance, SilShield® has developed multi-layer graffiti protection films, which are being increasingly adopted and utilized by rail customers. We offer three types of multi-layer graffiti protection films: 4 layers of 4 mil, 4 layers of 2 mil, and 2 layers of 2 mil, extending exceptional protection against defacement and vandalism, ensuring easy removal of graffiti and maintaining the aesthetics of train cars.
Solar-Control Film:
With up to 99%-100% UV blockage, this film significantly reduces interior fading in locomotives. It keeps signal attenuation within a range of 6dB, providing outstanding heat insulation, and offers a service life of up to 15-25 years. Effectively reduce glare and enhance passenger comfort; reduce air conditioning energy consumption, achieving a reduction in carbon emissions.
Decorative safety film:
In areas within the locomotive such as windshields, luggage racks, and sliding doors, diverse requirements for semi-transparency and color effects are necessary. SilShield's printable hardening film and decorative film are designed to better meet various customer needs. The printable film not only delivers excellent image printing effects but also offers scratch resistance. Additionally, it features a specially designed high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive for track applications, providing excellent anti-explosion properties, making it a versatile solution.
Fog can affect the display of screens as it condenses when airborne moisture cools. The super hydrophilic coating of anti-fog film allows moisture to instantly form a flat surface upon contact, preventing it from obstructing the line of sight. SilShield's anti-fog film offers a longer service life and outstanding performance, making it the preferred choice for internal anti-fog applications in the display modules.
Protective Film:
Locomotive skirts, locomotive driver's cab interiors, business class seats, tabletops, and other components all require durable wear-resistant protection. SilShield has developed a polyurethane-based protective film that significantly extends their lifespan, keeping the train car interior and exterior looking like new for an extended period.
Interior Vehicle Signage:

Locomotive-specific anti-slip tape & threads:
The anti-slip features in the locomotive's interior, such as gangways, steps, roof, emergency exits, etc., are achieved through locomotive-specific anti-slip tapes. These anti-slip tape must also meet stringent industry standards for fire safety and environmental protection. Sealing adhesive for locomotive Gangways canvas:
